So stinking proud of all of you!! I’m so glad you had a little bit of home with you to celebrate the 4th. Guessing its meaning was different this year and will continue to be a part of your heart each & every 4th as you watch the fireworks light up the sky.

Grayson we will miss you at UNG today!!! I’d remind you to use sunblock but I’m guessing you’ve already got a sunburn 🙄.

Give each other the hugs & love we’d love to give!

  3. Glad to hear you were able to enjoy your 4th of July, far from home. We’re on the road to Alabama, for a baseball tournament, with one eye on the Nathan’s Hot Dog Eating contest from Coney Island, hoping to see some fireworks later, too.

I’m sure you all will never forget the 4th of July you spent in the Philippines…and neither will anyone else who heard you singing our national anthem.

Love you…in our hearts and on our minds.

  4. Happy belated 4th to the group! Being in another country for the 4th definitely will cause you to reflect what an amazing country so many have sacrificed to protect. You guys are an incredible example of what makes me so proud to be an American…a country whose foundation is in it’s faith in God. Cannot help but think about you guys constantly and what God has in store for you on this journey!

Haley, Jesse is doing amazing and says “meow..meow”. Grant sends his love. We are all great and look forward to the next update. Stay safe and hydrated!! Love Dad.
PS- Haley please stay vertical (she will know what this means!)

  9. When you read this, it will be your last day at Tarong. I know it’s flown by way too fast. The tears will flow for sure- but find comfort in the fact that you’ve left impressions of a lifetime on those kids and their families, and more importantly, they have left a permanent mark on your hearts. What a blessing! We love you all, even Jackson and his yellow hair!! Y’all are the best!

  16. Okay Emma here’s the Bachelorette update:) love you

Jed got the first date, if you can’t remember who Jed is, he’s the one who plays the guitar. Hannah and Jed explored Amsterdam and at the end of the night ( get ready for this) Hannah confessed that she was falling in love with him. He got a rose obviously.
The second one on one was given to (my absolute favorite) Tyler C. They had a cute date, but it got kinda of shaky when Hannah was trying to get Tyler to open up. She had a high bar set up after she went on a date with Jed and wanted Tyler to really open up in hopes of having a deeper relationship. Later on, Tyler ended up opening up about his parents marriage falling apart and what he went through after it. He got a rose that night!

    So who’s left?
Well Connor was upset about not getting a one on one once he found out Mike got the last one and went to see Hannah. This angel who did not start any fights (cough cough luke p and Garrett) sadly went home. Hannah had stronger relationships and had to start making tough decisions on sending people home.

Mike, the last one on one, they biked around the Netherlands and went to a art studio. At the end of it, Mike could see himself getting down on one knee and proposing to hannah, but Hannah couldn’t. Both cried and mike left feeling crushed. (I hope he’s the next bachelor just sayin)

Okay then there were three. Peter, Garrett, and Luke p.
I’m just going to spare the details. Basically Luke p and Garrett got into a fight( not physical but Luke did throw a bologna into Garrett’s lap) and while the two were fighting, Peter (another favorite of mine) took the opportunity to talk to Hannah.
Peter got the group date rose. Luke and Garrett went on a dinner date with hannah that night. Garrett played the “I love you card” and Luke share his testimony on his encounter with God. He was struggling with stuff and then in the shower he heard a voice saying “ let go” and looked up and saw a glimpse of heaven. She ended up giving the rose to Luke because she liked how he opened up about his faith and it brought them closer.
Anyways, we have Luke P, Peter, Jed, and Tyler C. for home towns:)

  17. Hey Chad and Anna!! Holly, Bama, Joseph and I miss you tons! We are so proud to read of the work you are doing there. We read every blog post and look for you in every picture. I can’t wait to hear all the stories when you get back. I pray for you many times throughout the day. Anna, I started a new puzzle. It took me two days to figure out I had two pieces in the wrong places since you’re not here to tell me haha. I’ll be so glad to have my puzzle partner back. I went to Hobby Lobby and tried walking up and down every isle. It’s just not the same without you. Holly got her hair cut. They had to go short so she looks like a brat haha. Chad, I remembered to put the garbage out this time. I was pretty proud of myself haha. I miss our coffee on the porch. I haven’t been out there since you’ve been gone. It’s boring without you to talk to. Joseph and I celebrated the 4th by hanging out at the pool most of the day. We had peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and watermelon 🙂 We did have fried chicken for dinner though. I spoke with Sarah and she’s having a great week. God continues to grow her more and more with each week. I can’t wait to see your sweet faces. I’m crying happy tears at the thought of holding you in my arms. You are my world and I miss you. Give each other a hug for me. I love you infinity and beyond. Gotcha ❤️

  18. HEY YALL! I think this is commenting as the blog itself, but its riley reeves. it won’t let me log out hahaha! BUT I write knowing that when you guys read this you’ll have just ended a hard day. Family Fiesta is sweet but the goodbyes are so hard. I remember being pretty much dragged out of that place. (Thank u Chaddad). but they don’t forget about you, and you won’t forget about them. Got to talk to a sweet friend of mine, Junalyn, through Facebook today. Reminded me that the Lord has no perception of distance when it comes to how we love and befriend people on earth. I’m praying the words of Hosea 6:3 over y’all tonight, “He will come to us like the rain.” My hope and prayer is that this week looked a lot like that. refreshing and full of replenishment. Praying health and safety over y’all big time. Cheering you on and missing you lots Taylor!

    1. So amazed when we read the blog tonite at large group. You prayed Hosea 6:3 and today was the only day in Bantayan that it rained! It’s rained a couple of evenings at Anika, but today was the only day at the school we had the cool refreshing rain. Can’t help but think of the connection to your prayer. It’s been a great week!

  25. Dear Karson ( and I guess Martín too) I’m so proud of you for what you are going through this week. I have read about all these incredible things y’all have done. What everyone has done. It is really amazing. For y’all to give up the holidays with your family and do something amazing for these kids and families is truly amazing. I know we all at Lake Erie are missing y’all dearly. But we are also so proud and excited to see you grow and prosper because of this trip. A couple things that haven’t been the same without karson: riding the rides together at cedar point and shouting the dumbest things at the top of the rides, Running around the streets of Huron for hours, watching the fireworks with you and listen to you “ohhh” and “ahhh” with I’m sure everyone else got the pleasure of hearing. Can’t wait to see you soon. Love you always Katlyn
