Today started with our “normal” morning routine. You guessed it…wake up knocks from the leaders, buffet style breakfast and some really good juice. However, this morning looked a little different than our previous mornings at Anika. Instead of loading up the jeepneys and heading to San Agustin Elementary School, we loaded up jeepneys and headed to the port, where we boarded a three story barge, which just so happened to be on of the choppiest rides of many of our lives. Our travels did not end after this boat ride; the team boarded a bus with working air-conditioning (which we have come to find as a blessing).
The four hour bus ride was pleasantly interrupted by a stop at the local souvenir shop where we were able to get some shopping for our friends and family done.
The remainder of our day consisted of quick showers back at Montebello Hotel and then dinner at an Italian restaurant around the corner. The team is now in their rooms resting from a long day. We will be back at it bright and early tomorrow morning!
As our journey is winding down, please continue to pray for health for our team!
Love, Maggie and Kyle
